HEAD OF DATA & TECHNOLOGY
Lead the strategy. Shape the operating model. Build lasting capability.
Salary: £70,000
Location: London
Working Model: Hybrid, 2 Days a Week
We're partnering with Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity working to ensure everyone affected by pancreatic cancer can live long and well. Through breakthrough research, campaigning for change and specialist support from expert nurses, it is taking on a disease where half of people currently die within three months of diagnosis. The charity is now appointing a Head of Data & Technology at a pivotal point in its development.
With broad ownership across data, business systems, outsourced IT, infrastructure, cyber security and the emerging approach to AI, you'll create a clear and proportionate strategy, bring structure to competing priorities and give teams the direction and support they need. You'll also have the authority to challenge the existing outsourced model, improve strategic value and recommend how future internal capacity and investment should be shaped.
This is not a role for a narrow data specialist or someone expected to be a technical expert in every area. We're looking for a pragmatic, delivery-focused leader with credible breadth across data and IT, someone who can translate complexity, set realistic expectations and take colleagues with them through meaningful organisational change.
What you'll bring
- Senior leadership experience across data and technology, with sufficient breadth across data governance, business systems, IT infrastructure and cyber security.
- A track record of setting strategy and leading proportionate technology-enabled transformation within a complex, resource-constrained organisation.
- The confidence to lead and challenge outsourced technology partners, manage risk and ensure services deliver strategic and commercial value.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership, with the ability to prioritise competing needs, create deliverable plans and build confidence and capability across teams.
This is an opportunity to become Pancreatic Cancer UK's senior voice on data and technology, shape a developing function and make a visible difference to a nationally important mission.
